It is an institute of pontifical rights in which members pronounce puplic vows and live fraternal life. In this love of neighbour one reaches personal holiness not only to self but also to those whom they serve and find their holiness in (poverty, obedience and chasitity)
Peter Joseph Savelberg, born in the Netherlands in 1827. Ordained priest in 1854.He was six years chaplain of a convent at Nonnenwerth before his appointment as a curate at Heerlen in 1860.There he was deeply moved by the social and spiritual neediness of the area, and with the help of some members of the third order of st. Francis he immediately began "helping where nobody helps". His inntention was captured by the poorest, and the little ones whom no one cared for: orphans, the aged, the mantally and physically handcapped.
The personal experience of our Founder
Savelberg is a lasting point of refrence for
the religious life of the sisters of
his congregatin which gives the sisters encouragement
to explore.
Since 1963 the congregation has gradualy grown
from one member up to five hundred members.
we have one hundred communities working in two cotinents.
